Mothers run the world — and for many moms, coffee is what keeps them going. So, one coffee shop has decided to give busy moms what they need: more of their favorite drink! That’s why on Mother’s Day, this Sunday, May 12, Tim Hortons will offer a free cup of coffee for moms.
But this isn’t an ordinary cup of coffee. To keep moms going, this coffee shop knows a small cup of joe just won’t do. In fact, even a traditional large-sized coffee isn’t good enough on her special day. Say hello to a special Mother’s Day 52-ounce cup of Tim Horton’s Premium Blend, iced.

Moms can go to Tim Horton’s on Mother’s Day to pick up what Tim Hortons calls in a press release the “largest size currently offered by a renowned major coffee chain in the U.S.”— for free. We’re guessing moms may not want to sleep in on Mother’s Day if they want to score this caffeine-infused deal!
According to Tim Hortons, the single 52-ounce cup of coffee is almost equivalent to a full pot! A typical small coffee from Tim Hortons is 10 ounces. So, this Mother’s Day cup is like getting more than five cups of coffee. That should keep mom going for the entire day. And, by the way, all moms qualify — even dog moms.
Still, there is a slight catch — Tim Hortons isn’t available in every state, and the free coffee isn’t available in every Tim Hortons. The 52-ounce treat for moms is only available at select locations in three states. These stores are:
- 1700 Richmond Ave., Staten Island, New York
- 45515 Michigan Ave., Canton, Michigan
- 5989 Transit Rd., East Amherst, New York
- 5035 Southwestern Blvd, Hamburg, New York
- 89 W. William St., Delaware, Ohio
- 6815 W. Central Ave., Toledo, Ohio
Participating restaurants around the U.S. will offer Mother’s Day-themed doughnuts for purchase, though, in case moms would like a sweet breakfast item with their coffee!

Simply go to a participating Tim Hortons location and ask for the “Mom-sized” iced coffee. It’s as simple as that. Note, however, that the mega Mother’s Day coffee is limited to one per customer.
If you’re staying home to relax this Mother’s Day, you can still enjoy a nice cup of joe at home. Start with some high-quality coffee beans and grind them just before brewing for the freshest taste. Better yet — have someone else make your coffee or espresso and bring you breakfast in bed!
Whether you head to Tim Horton’s or enjoy your coffee at home, be sure not to overdo it: Health experts recommend that we stick to under 400 milligrams of caffeine per day. That’s the equivalent of four typical cups of coffee, so you might want to split your “Mom-sized” coffee with another tired mom!
