It's the first power poll of the regular season and given the political season, we are using the political spelling of the word "pole."
The top three spots in our first poll are NFC teams, but six AFC teams occupy slots in the top ten.
Seattle, Arizona and Carolina are the best teams entering the season in my opinion, but obviously Denver and perennial powers New England and Green Bay have Super Bowl caliber squads.
Cincinnati would be in the Super Bowl equation, but let’s see if they can win a playoff game first. If Pittsburgh gets anything from that young defense they will be a factor. while Kansas City without Justin Houston is good but not “Super.”
I see the Raiders, Jaguars and Buccaneers ready to make big steps up. I see Detroit, Tennessee being underrated.
Dallas, the Jets, Buffalo and Washington are overrated and San Diego, Philadelphia, Cleveland and San Francisco are a dumpster fire.
As you know all of this is fluid. We don’t know how teams will come together, who will get injured and for how long all of which makes the NFL so unpredictable.
Aren’t you glad you don’t bet on this stuff? Oh, sorry you probably do!
Without further ado, here is how I see the NFL from a power-perspective.
