Packers assign Clay Matthews' old #52 to new draft pick Rashan Gary

Packers fans are not super happy after the team announced newest draft pick Rashan Gary will wear No. 52 this season.

In a tweet, the team showed a photoshopped picture of Gary in green and gold with the number.

Fifty-two was the number of former Packers linebacker Clay Matthews, who left for the Los Angeles Rams in the offseason, and some fans are still not over it.

Even Clay Matthews himself didn't think it was time just yet for the team to move on.

Gary, who played at the University of Michigan, was selected with the 12th pick in the 2019 NFL Draft on Thursday night.
