GREEN BAY -- Veterans Day is this Sunday, and Packers running back Aaron Jones has been nominated for a very prestigious award.

Aaron Jones was announced today as the Packers nominee for the “Salute to Service Award." The award, presented annually by USAA and the NFL, honors a league member who demonstrates an exemplary commitment to honoring and supporting the military community.

Jones is the son of two retired Sergeant Majors in the U.S. Army, giving him a unique understanding of how much sacrifice goes into being in the armed forces. In addition, his older brother Xavier currently serves in the U.S. Air Force

Growing up, Jones attended several youth military events in which he ended up receiving multiple awards, including five Military Commander Coins.

Most recently, Jones has dedicated time to visiting injured war veterans in San Antonio, Texas.
