MADISON -- Fond du Lac St. Mary's Springs scored with just over two minutes left to score a comeback victory over Stratford in the Division 5 Championship game.

The win held special meaning for the Ledgers after teammate Trent Schueffner died in October after a hunting accident.  His number 62 jersey hung over the team's bench during the game and provided inspiration to the team.

"I'm not very good with this," said coach Bob Hyland.  "I don't think anybody is.  The kids picked each other up."

"Football is more than football," said senior captain Cade Christensen.  "That's a prime example of it.  You learn how to get through such hardship and we were able to do that as a team and as a family."
