He watched coaches lead the Wisconsin Badgers against the Big Ten's best while sneaking into Camp Randall Stadium for football games as a kid.

Now, he's the Big Ten's best coach.

The conference named Paul Chryst the 2016 Coach of the Year on Tuesday.

The honor comes in his second season, where the Badgers have already earned a 10-2 record and a spot in the Big Ten Championship Game.

A win over Penn State Saturday night means not only a conference title and - at worst - a Rose Bowl berth, but with a lot of help, a potential spot in the College Football Playoff.
