MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo was announced as a starter for the 2017 NBA All-Star team Thursday evening, the team confirmed.
It's the team's first All-Star selection since Michael Redd in 2004, and the first time they've had a starter in the annual All-Star Game since 1986.

The Bucks are currently in the thick of the Eastern Conference playoff hunt. They next play the Orlando Magic Friday night at 6:00 p.m.
The All-Star Game will take place at the Smoothie King Arena in New Orleans next month.
