A Milwaukee Bucks player who hasn't been shy about sharing his thoughts on the issues facing our inner cities is showing his support for San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick.
Bucks forward Jabari Parker shared this Instagram picture of him wearing a black Kaepernick 49ers jersey. Kaepernick, of course, has chosen to protest by not standing during the National Anthem before his team's games.
Kaepernick has explained his protest is about police violence and discrimination against African-Americans in the United States.
Other athletes, including Kaepernick's teammate Eric Reid and women's soccer star Megan Rapinoe, have joined the quarterback in solidarity.
"Never followed the wave but this one is necessary. I got your back homie @kaepernick7," Parker said.
Parker has been outspoken about conditions in his hometown of Chicago - about violence in his city, about police issues and about the Black Lives Matter movement.
He also spoke on an ESPN program about the same subjects.
