The decade of the 1960’s was a turbulent time when the United States began to focus on pollution problems; and the battle between preservation and development raged on. Here in Wisconsin we had our own battle over land as told in the new book The People and The Land by Environmental Attorney Pam Schaefer. She joins us to tell the story of how local nature conservationists were determined to keep our beautiful Lake Michigan coast pristine, leading to our beloved Schlitz Audubon Center today.
