During these uncertain times, one thing is certain: we all need some entertainment. But with theaters and venues closed, seeing our favorite performers live is not possible for the time being. The artists themselves are also finding this hard, especially when it is their livelihood that is affected. Joey Chelius, a local actor, musician, and teaching artist joins us to talk about how the performing industry is adapting, and what we can do to help.

UPAF and its Member Groups are providing robust virtual offerings during these times in order to bring the performing arts into local homes. These range from live performances to exclusive behind the scenes looks at upcoming productions to dance and fitness classes. UPAF holds Facebook Live performances with top local talent every Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings. On Thursday, May 7, UPAF will be holding a “UNITE with UPAF” Live event on Facebook at 7 p.m. which will feature performers, community and business leaders and arts advocates sharing performances and testimonials about the importance of UPAF and the performing arts in our community.
