According to the National Institute of Mental Health, more than 16 million people in the United States suffer from serious depression that often get worse without proper treatment. A new guided study suggests that genetic testing could improve remission rates. Dr. Sagar Parikh is a professor of psychiatry at the University of Michigan; he joins us along with Carmala Walgren, who has lived with depression, to discuss this new tool in mental health wellness.
