Pick up your phone and make a call before you just take action from an e-mail, text message, or Facebook post from what could be a scammer. Many of us have gotten so used to just responding with text messages, e-mails, or posting or clicking things on Facebook without thinking twice. If you get an odd text message, e-mail, or Facebook post and are being told to give personal information, check out a money making scheme, or something else that may seem odd, pick up your phone and call your friend or business associate to check things out. If you hear the words “wire” or get an I-Tunes card and give me the numbers from the back of the card”, this is a red flag that this is a scam
