Some types of trauma are obvious: natural disasters, abuse, addiction. But other forms are not as obvious, like homelessness and poverty. When it comes to those "everyday" types of trauma, we have people here in our area hitting the streets to help and make a difference. John Hyatt is the president and CEO of IMPACT and IMPACT 2-1-1's Crisis Call Center; Marrika Rodgers is a counselor who operates a mobile screening unit that helps people who are poor and without a place to live. They join us to discuss how their provides an immediate response to people in need.

You can join Molly Fay at IMPACT's 2nd annual fundraiser, Higher Ground... The Trauma Epidemic, on August 8 at 5:30pm at the Wisconsin Club. For more information on the event, and all the great work being done at IMPACT AND IMPACT 2-1-1, visit IMPACTinc.org.
