Mental illness and suicide are tough topics to talk about, even harder to live through. The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) is a voluntary health organization that gives those affected by suicide a nationwide community empowered by research, education and advocacy to take action against this leading cause of death. Every year they host the Milwaukee Out of Darkness Walk to raise funds to save lives. However, with COVID19 the walk is unable to meet in person in Veteran's Park. Gena Orlando the Wisconsin Area Director, and Abe Goldberg a Volunteer at the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention join us to talk about the foundation, and how they are adapting their fundraising efforts to health guidelines.

The Milwaukee Out of Darkness Walk will be held on October 11, 2020 and you can find out more information by visiting their website afsp.org/milwaukee, or by calling the Milwaukee office at 414-216-4180.
