Bloomin’ Holidays is one of the Museum of Wisconsin Art's most popular annual events. Each year the museum infuses the galleries with spectacular floral installations created by nearly 20 local florists and artists. This year’s theme is aptly named “Floral Sanctuary” as they explore the ephemeral beauty of flowers for home, sanctuary, and mental health. Today we are joined by Ally Wilber, Curator of Public Programs, Museum of Wisconsin Art and Michael Alt, Owner of Alt’s and featured 2020 Bloomin’ Holidays Florist to learn more about this stunning event.

Bloomin’ Holidays kicks off Wednesday, November 4 with “Lights in Bloom”—a large-scale outdoor animation that transforms the Museum of Wisconsin Art's towering façade into a large-scale art installation by Milwaukee artist Gabrielle Tesfaye. You can enjoy the beautiful installation safely outdoors or even from your car!

Bloomin’ Holidays is free for MOWA members. If you are not yet a member, attend Bloomin’ Holidays for just $15 and get a complimentary museum membership for one full year.
