A 28-year-old Columbus man was released on signature bond Thursday despite accusations that he was drunk when he crash and killed a Lake Mills firefighter on New Year's Eve.

the man was assigned a $5,000 signature bond on Thursday, which he would have to pay if he misses any court dates.
His first court date is scheduled for March 7 for a bail/bond hearing.
