10-year-old Abigail Turner has officially become Abigail Novotny.

Anne Novotny adopted Abby after she had been living with her as a foster child since 2013.

Anne is a social worker who joked she took her work home with her. She now has one biological child and eight adopted children.
"I get choked up even now. It's never ever the same. It's always amazing and exciting," Novotny said.

Abby and two of her siblings attend St. Coletta Day School. Most of her classmates were in the courtroom when the adoption became official.

The students and staff were excited for Abby's adoption. One staff member noted she couldn't wait for Abby to be able to sign everything with her new name, Abby Novotny.

Abby was a foster child through SaintA.

St. Coletta is a non-profit school for students with intellectual disabilities.
