ASHWAUBENON, Wis. -- Ashwaubenon Public Safety Officers said Friday in a press release that a man stole a crucifix and damaged a sign at a television station.

Police were called to Nativity of Our Lord Church around 8:45 p.m. for a man who was reportedly acting "bizarre."

Witnesses reported the man, who had covered his face, sat at a piano and lit a cigarette while asking for the clergy.

A parishioner said he asked the man to show his face. The man then stole a large crucifix and fled the church in a small blue car, possibly a Ford Focus or Fusion.

Officers were then called to Fox 11 for the same man who police say used the crucifix to smash a digital sign in front of the business.

The man fled on foot across Lombardi Avenue through a yard getting into the same similar blue car.
