Parents are debating whether a Texas mom's punishment was too harsh after a video on Twitter shows her beating her teen son with a belt.
The incident occurred after the woman's 14-year-old son stole her new BMW to go see his girlfriend.
When his mom found him, videos shows her whipping him with a belt by the side of the road in El Paso, Texas.
The boy's sister, Liza Campero, rode along with her mom as they chased the boy down the road.
Liza said her brother carefully planned the BMW heist, cutting the home security system so he could sneak out undetected.
However, her brother underestimated his mom's tracking skills.
Reports said the boy was grounded with no phone, PlayStation and without a door on his bedroom.
The teen and his older sister later posted a video about the incident on YouTube.
