A pregnant woman went into premature labor after being kicked in the stomach by an off-duty Florida police officer.

The woman's husband says him and his wife were walking back from work on South Beach when Officer Ambar Pachecho attacked her.

"She was probably drunk," Joseph Predulus, the victim's husband, said. "She just walked by and I was talking to my baby mother saying she was so emotional and the girl figured she was talking to them."

The victim, Ebony Predulus, started having contractions after the attack. Hours later, her baby boy was born.

"When he was born it put a smile on my face," said Joseph. "All my concern was is he happy."

Ebony's due date was August 4.

The North Miami Beach Department has since relieved Officer Pacheco of duty pending an internal affairs review.
