A Rice Lake woman has died after a car collision with a school bus in Barron County Tuesday night.
The Barron County Sheriff's Department responded to a 911 call about a crash near Highway 48, west of Rice Lake.
According to authorities, a preliminary investigation showed the 55-year-old Rice Lake woman crossed the center line and struck a school bus carrying the Amery Girls Basketball team. Twenty-two students, 4 coaches and one driver were aboard. All were treated and released at the scene.
The accident caused Highway 48 to be closed 48 hours.
There is an ongoing investigation by the Barron County Sheriff’s Department and Barron County Medical Examiners Office. The accident is being reconstructed by the Wisconsin State Patrol.
