(KTTC) It's been 16 months since Logan Luft, a 15-year-old from Charles City, Iowa died in an ATV accident.
He was an organ donor, whose organs saved five people. The Luft family has met all of Logan's organ recipients, except for one.
That changed on Saturday.
"We didn't really know what the future held for us as a family after we lost him, but I have five new family members, you know. Three of which are little girls that hold his liver, his kidney, and his heart," said Wendy Luft, Logan's mother. "And to have them as our new family has been the best silver lining on terrible tragedy that we can hope for."
Logan's heart transplant recipient came all the way from Louisville, Kentucky to meet the family of the boy who saved her life. She was born with a heart defect.
