WASHINGTON — The State of Wisconsin will now be able to provide residents with an additional $300 per week, on top of their regular unemployment benefit, thanks to a grant from FEMA.
The FEMA grant under the Lost Wages Assistance program goes to Wisconsin residents who are unemployed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
This comes after the White House signed off on $44 billion from FEMA’s Disaster Relief Fund to provide financial assistance to Americans who have lost wages due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
On Tuesday, the State of Wisconsin agreed to administer the lost wages program.
Wisconsin is the latest of over 44 states to accept the FEMA grants.
