One of the key components of systemic racial inequality is the opportunity for education and a new WalletHub study puts Wisconsin as the worst state in the country in that category.
The study measured the disparity between races in the number of high school diplomas, bachelor's degrees, standardized test scores, mean SAT scores, average ACT scores and graduation rates.
Wisconsin placed dead-last in graduation rate and standardized test scores and placed 47th in the gap between Black and white people who have received a bachelor's degree or a high school diploma.
The state's gap in ACT scores ranked higher than only Oregon and Washington.
New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut and Minnesota ranked just above Wisconsin at the bottom of the list.
The top spots were claimed by Wyoming, West Virginia, Montana, New Mexico, and Idaho.
WalletHub also states a recent study found that school districts that have a high concentration of white students receive $23 billion more per year in funding than those that have a high concentration of non-white students.
