Winter weather advisory in effect at 5 p.m. Tuesday

A winter weather advisory for Milwaukee, Fond du Lac, Sheboygan, Dodge, Jefferson, Washington, Ozaukee, Racine and Kenosha counties is in effect from 5 p.m. Tuesday until 9 a.m. Wednesday.

Most of the area will see snow by late afternoon, but some spots had snowfall Tuesday morning.

There will be less than 1 inch of snow on the ground for the evening commute. Snow continues overnight, and most of southeast Wisconsin will have 3 to 4 inches of fluffy snow by Wednesday morning.

Areas south of Milwaukee will have 1 to 3 inches of snow and some freezing rain. The snow will taper off before noon Wednesday, and the rest of the day is mostly cloudy and breezy with a high of 31.
