Winnebago County Sheriff: Deputy nearly hit by teen driver [VIDEO]

Posted

A Winnebago County Sheriff’s deputy is lucky to be alive after a teenage driver accused of driving under the influence crashed into a squad car and nearly hit the deputy.

The Sheriff's Office along with the Wisconsin State Patrol were helping another driver who had spun out into a ditch Sunday in the snow in the Town of Clayton.

A 17-year-old driver hit the squad car, sending it lurching forward toward the deputy, who was standing on the shoulder trying to help with the other car.

The driver was arrested by State Patrol of OWI, and three 16-year-old passengers in the car were cited for underage drinking.
