The Milwaukee Police Department announced Thursday that there has been a decrease in carjackings within the city of Milwaukee.
The number of total carjackings has declined by 8 percent from last year.
The biggest decrease came in the month of November. In 2017, 56 carjackings were reported. In 2018, only 23 were, a 59 percent decrease.
MPD also said that they will continue to protect the city with the help of traffic initiatives and partnerships with other law enforcement agencies.
