KENOSHA COUNTY -- A Kenosha County man was arrested for a deadly hit-and-run after turning himself into police with his wife.
Ryan Peterson is accused of driving the car that struck and killed a bicyclist Sunday night in the Town of Trevor. The victim killed has been identified as Jackie Hutcheson Jr., 29, of Trevor.
According to the Kenosha County Sheriff's Office, Peterson's wife saw a morning news report about the hit-and-run accident. She then called her husband at work since he told her that he hit a deer the same night.
When Peterson came home from work, he and his wife went to a "trusted" deputy she knew and stated that they believed Peterson was involved in the accident.
According to the criminal complaint, Peterson admitted to drinking before the crash and said he was distracted trying to plug in his phone while driving.
