WEST ALLIS - Blustery weather made for an ultra busy week for Flag Center, a flag store based out of Wauwatosa, as dozens of service calls poured in after the wind storms.

Kristin Boyle, vice president and owner of Flag Center,  and her crew spent the week sifting through a high volume of calls for fixing flags, an item not often considered when it comes to protecting valuables in inclement weather.

“Typically we can get anywhere from three to five service calls a day, yesterday we had over 25," Boyle said.

Boyle is well-versed in the logistics of flag fixing. The Flag Center is a company she said her and her parents have taken pride in owning for over 20 years.

“If it’s a broken flagpole rope, we have to utilize our aerial lift to get up to the top of the flagpole to do the repairs," Boyle said.

She considers flag fixing a labor of love and a job that brings her great joy, especially when she sees newly restored flags fly high.

“It is a niche business and we’ve taken a lot of pride it doing this, we get to help a lot of people," she said.
