WAUKESHA -- The Waukesha Police Department is alerting residents about a convicted sex offender who will be released into the community on Tuesday.

Waukesha Police say Brandon M. Melton, a convicted sex offender back in 2009, will be released from prison on July 3 and will be homeless.

Melton is a 28-year-old black male who was convicted for 2nd-degree sexual assault of a child. While out on bail for this offense, he also assaulted a 13-year-old female.

While he has no temporary living right now, he lived in the Fleetwood and Big Bend Apartments in Waukesha.

The 5'8" male will be a registered sex offender for the rest of his life. He will be on a G.P.S. monitoring system for supervision. He is to have no unsupervised contact with minors, no taverns/bars/liquor stores, no contact with victims, and not to purchase/possess or consume alcohol or illegal drugs.
