Waukesha County man buys $1 million scratch-off ticket

A Waukesha man became an instant millionaire after after redeeming a scratch-off ticket.

Ronald Alvarez of Dousman bought the $30 lucky Royal Millions scratch ticket at the Woodman's Food Market at 1099 South Grand Avenue in Sun Prairie.

Lottery officials say Alvarez will get $673,000 after taxes, and retailers receive 2 percent of the winnings, up to $100,000.

An additional $1 million grand prize is still available in the Royal Millions scratch game, according to lottery official, along with additional prizes up to $50,000.
