TOWN OF LISBON -- A bicyclist was killed in the Town of Lisbon Wednesday night when he was hit by a box truck, according to the Waukesha County Sheriff's Office.

It happened around 7:30 p.m. Thursday on CTH Q west of North Road, according to a news release from Captain Marc R. Moonen. The driver of the box truck, a 56-year-old Oconomowoc man, was driving eastbound on CTH Q when he hit the bicyclist, who was also traveling eastbound. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the truck stayed at the scene of the crash and is cooperating with police, the news release says.

The Washington County Sheriff's Office, the Lisbon Fire Department, and the Richfield Fire Department all assisted the Waukesha County Sheriff's Office at the scene. Further assistance was provided by the Wisconsin State Patrol and Germantown Police Department.

The name of the bicyclist will not be released until family has been notified.
