A 27-year-old man with severe alcoholic problems was identified as the victim who died in a lagoon near Froedtert Hospital last month.

On Dec. 28, authorities found Maxwell Robert Beyer partially immersed in the pond.

On Tuesday the Milwaukee County Medical examiner ruled the cause of death as environmental hypothermia.

Beyer was reportedly homeless. At the time there was ice on the pond and temperatures were 30 degrees with wet snow falling.
