Around 6:40 a.m. on Monday morning, a caller informed police of an unsafe car hauler on I-41, traveling southbound.

The hauler had several violations.

The hauler was carrying eight impounded vehicles, but was only allowed to carry four. Two of the vehicles were being towed behind the car hauler, stacked on top of one another. The vehicle on top was only secured by a tie strap.

Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office shared pictures on Facebook.

According to Sheriff Richard Schmidt, truck safety has been a high priority lately.

Sheriff Schmidt said, "In the last quarter of 2017 I ordered the resurrection of the Truck Enforcement Unit. Our highly trained deputies are actively targeting trucks that jeopardize the safety of the motoring public. The public is encouraged to call 911 immediately if they see trucks with obvious violations on the expressway."

The driver, who also owned the trucking company, was given citations for his violations and the vehicle was taken out of service until the violations are fixed.
