Two men are dead after a horrific crash on Milwaukee’s north side.
It happened Thursday night near 76th and Burleigh and witnesses told TODAY’S TMJ4 a crash like this was bound to happen because people speed through the intersection all the time.
Surveillance video from a nearby gas station captured the moment of impact; witness video also shows the aftermath with one car resting on its roof.
Byron Henderson was a short distance away when it happened.
“That was horrible just seeing those bodies there you know that was quite scary for me, I was like wow," Henderson said.
“I always tell people like even if it's a red light or you've got a green light, just look both ways before because sometimes people go straight through the red light," said Henderson.
Police say two of the three men in the Ford Escort car died at the scene. It is believed they weren't wearing seatbelts. They also say the two cars collided because the smaller one disregarded a red light.
Julian Tolliver waits for the bus at the intersection. His thoughts are with the victims' families.
"Yeah, it's very sad, it's very tragic but you know this could be like a lesson to anybody else, no offense to just be careful, just watch what you're doing and be careful," Tolliver said.
The other driver involved in this crash was also injured but those injuries aren't considered serious.
