Two arrested after drugs found in child's diaper bag, police say

RACINE — Two people were arrested after police found drugs and a toddler not properly restrained in a car Friday.

The Racine County Sheriff's Office said a K-9 Handler conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near Ohio St. and Republic Avenue in Racine just after 1:30 a.m.

During a probable cause search, cocaine, marijuana, marijuana edibles and cash were found. A 2-year-old in the car was also sitting unbuckled within an unsecured car seat.

The cocaine and marijuana were found in the toddler's diaper bag.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as Veronica Taylor, 27 and she was charged with neglecting a child, possession and traffic-related violations.

The passenger of the vehicle was identified as Andrew Crutcher, 29, and he was charged with neglecting a child, possession and probation warrants.

Both were taken to the Racine County Jail.
