MILWAUKEE (AP) -- A mix of freezing rain, sleet and snow has closed or delayed classes at dozens of school districts across Wisconsin as law enforcement agencies warned against travel in the most treacherous spots.

State transportation officials say highways and roads from northern Wisconsin to La Crosse and east to Sheboygan are ice covered. Multiple jackknifed semis have closed Highway 26 in both directions at county Highway I on Tuesday morning.

The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory due to the ice and glaze coating roads in most of the Badger State.
