SHEBOYGAN — The TODAY Show with Hoda and Jenna surprised a Sheboygan woman Thursday morning when they announced Amazon was donating $10K to the food bank she works at.

Liz Kroll, who is from Sheboygan County, was the first employee at the Sheboygan County Food Bank. It all started in her garage, where she collected food for families in and around Sheboygan.

Now, that Food Bank has grown and relocated, plus added an additional seven employees. Kroll has been a big part of the Food Bank, but her friend told the TODAY Show that she hasn't gotten the recognition she deserves.

That's why the TODAY Show chose to Spread Holiday Cheer in Sheboygan County by surprising Kroll outside of the Food Bank and tell her that Amazon has donated $10K to help feed families in Sheboygan.

Hoda and Jenna Face Time called Kroll Thursday live during their show and asked her to walk outside. There, she found friends and family, as well as a TODAY Show producer.

Hoda and Jenna informed her of the donation to the food bank and thanked her for all of her hard work. They asked Kroll why she does what she does, and the truth is, she does it because she cares.

"Just for our community. I just live in an awesome community and I just feel like we need to take care of each other and help each other out," Kroll said.
