Dog lovers at Rover.com, "the nation's largest network of 5-star pet sitters and dog walkers," released a study of this year's most popular dog names across the country.
The report found that pet owners in Milwaukee tend to favor human names for their dogs, with the top male name "Buddy" and female name "Bella" for 2017.

Additionally, the Wisconsin "cheese-head" stereotype has been proven true as dog names inspired by cheeses like "Colby" and "Mac" are up 232% in Milwaukee this year.
Other trends found that animal-themed names like "Bear," "Moose" and "Goose" are up 54%, while in the home of Harley Davidson, the name "Harley" is up 10% but "Chopper" has plummeted by 81%.
At the national level, baby and human-inspired names make up 44% of all dog names in 2017.
Eight percent of names are influenced by trends in pop culture like "Stranger Things" and "Star Wars."
Other trends show a decline in the amount of political and food inspired dog names in 2017.
