KENOSHA — Since the start of the civil unrest in Kenosha, over 200 people have been arrested, jail records show.

Jacob Blake was shot and seriously injured by a Kenosha police officer on Sunday, Aug, 23. Since then, unrest has broken out across the city.

A curfew was issued on the night of the shooting and continued into the week, officially ending on Sept. 2.

The Kenosha County Sheriff's Department and Kenosha Police Department have been working with the National Guard to try and control the unrest, which has lead to 213 arrests in under two weeks.

According to Kenosha County Jail records, 40 percent of the arrests made were people from Kenosha. However, 29 percent were people from out of state.

On Tuesday night alone, nine people were arrested. Two of them were from out of state, and one was from Union grove. The other six, though, were from Kenosha.

Those arrested are facing charges such as breaking curfew, disorderly conduct/resisting, and illegal possession of a gun.
