Three potentially explosive bottles found in Kenosha

KENOSHA — Three potentially explosive bottles have been found this week in Kenosha, Kenosha Police said Friday.

In the latest incident, which happened about 6 a.m. Friday, Kenosha Police responded to the report of a suspicious bottle found in the 5200 block of 63rd Street.

The bottle was discovered in a residential mailbox, hidden behind the resident's mail. The bottle contained similar characteristics to other potentially explosive bottles located Jan. 2.

The Kenosha County Sheriff's Hazardous Device Unit rendered the bottle safe and checked other mailboxes within a 2-mile radius. None were located.

The department would like to remind the public that if they encounter a suspicious item, don’t handle it and contact police immediately by calling 262-656-1234.
