MILWAUKEE — A hardworking Milwaukee Police K9 has received another gift this holiday season, one that could save his life.

MPD's K9 Enox received a donation of body armor from the non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s Inc. Enox, who is partnered with Officer Tiffany Koch, received a bullet- and stab-proof vest that will have "In memory of MPD Officer Dennis Zimmerman."

The donation to provide one protective vest for these dogs is $950, however, the vest itself is valued between $1,744 and $2,283.

Since this non-profit organization was founded, Vested Interest in K9s has provided more than 3,200 vests for all types of law enforcement dogs in all 50 states. If you do the math, that's a value of $5.7 million in donations.
