LAKE GENEVA — The man wanted for allegedly stabbing a woman in her neck has been captured, police say.
City of Lake Geneva Police initially released a statement earlier Wednesday, stating that around 2:53 a.m., officers were called to a Walmart on Edwards Boulevard for a stabbing.
There they found a woman who appeared to have multiple stab wounds to the area around her neck. The victim is now in a stable and 'good condition,' police say, but only after she was rushed to a hospital in Oconomowoc where she required 'immediate lifesaving surgery.'
Police detectives soon identified a suspect, 29-year-old Marcos Garcia Jr. of Janesville, considered armed and dangerous, and called on the public to help officers find him.
About an hour after police announced the incident, Lake Geneva Police wrote in an update that the suspect is now in custody.
