WAUKESHA COUNTY, WI - Class is back in session for a number of students—which means Tuesday was a busy day for a lot of parents and teachers.
“Watching [my daughter] get on the bus and all of that, it tears at your heart a little bit," Heather Coufal of Wales said.
About 15 minutes from Coufal's Wales home in Waukesha, learning in the classroom at Casa de La Esperanza is already off to a strong start.
The school started day one of classes with a ceremony honoring donors and elected officials who have made opening a charter school like this one possible.
Governor Walker was one of the award recipients. He toured the school—going from classroom to classroom greeting young learners excited for the first day of class.
