GREENDALE -- With Easter right around the corner, Southridge Mall is offering a unique opportunity for children with special needs to get their picture with the Easter Bunny.
Every kid needs a scrapbook full of holiday pictures. Thanks to an initiative from Simon that is guided by Ability Path, kids with special needs can get their pictures too, but in an environment that better meets their needs.
According to a news release from Southridge Mall, families can head to Southridge Mall for Simon's annual Easter celebration festivities from Friday, March 2 through Saturday, March 31. Kids can take pictures with the Bunny in his "veggie patch". Online reservations are also available for The Bunny Photo Experience.
On Sunday, March 18, from 9-10:30 a.m., children with special needs will have the opportunity to participate in the Bunny Photo Experience with Southridge Mall's Caring Bunny.
During this event, the mall's music will be turned off, escalators near the veggie patch will be stopped, and the lights will be dimmed. These precautions are an effort to reduce sensory triggers to make the experience more comforting. There will be special activities while kids are waiting in line.
The Caring Bunny was developed by Simon, a global retail leader, and is sponsored by the GYMBOREE GROUP. This experience is offered at nearly 100 of Simon's properties.
Southridge's Bunny Photo event also caters to pet lovers. On Sunday, March 25, there will be an Easter Bunny Pet Photo Night from 6-8:00 p.m.
