PORT WASHINGTON — While most people are thinking spring, Wednesday's weather isn't exactly on the same page. A rain-snow mix is expected in the evening and commutes home from work could get messy.

“It’s April, come on now, and we live in Wisconsin,” Nancy Casper-Klabunde said, laughing.

Wisconsinites aren't strangers to winter weather, but with temperatures in the 70s and 60s Monday and Tuesday, it isn’t something we’ve had to deal with all week — until now. Casper-Klabunde said everyone should hold off on putting winter wear away until July or August, and her friend Cynthia Wilk agreed.

“It’s Wisconsin, like she said. One day it’s going to be 65, and the next day it’s 34.”

“I think the coast is clear from June till August. Other than that, we’re prepared for snow.” — Jon Edgren of the Ozaukee County Department of Public Works

With a wet snow expected to fall throughout the day, the roads could get slushy. Jon Edgren of the Ozaukee County Department of Public Works said although his crews have started spring projects, they’re still prepared for anything.

“I think the coast is clear from June till August. Other than that, we’re prepared for snow,” Edgren said.
