MILWAUKEE — While online food delivery is a rapidly growing business, some local restaurants don't want to be a part of it.

Recently several local establishments asked online food ordering service Grubhub to have their menus taken off the site.

Bay View's "Odd Duck" and "Vanguard" both posted on social media over the weekend that the menus found on these sites were outdated.

"Odd Duck" owner Melissa Buchholz says her restaurant is a farm-to-table concept and the menu changes daily. That has led to outdated menus posted online and unhappy customers who order.

"They had drivers coming in, trying to order from an old menu, a menu we don't have the ingredients to make anymore," says Buchholz.

Her restaurant typically doesn't do take-out orders. The only exception has been customers who have a drink at the bar and decide to order something to take home.

Grubhub wrote the following in a statement:

"To help restaurants drive additional online delivery orders and revenue while giving diners even more options for delivery, we are adding non-partnered restaurants in a number of our markets, including Milwaukee. Should a restaurant not want to be on our platform or need to change any information like menu items or hours, they should reach out to our care team and we'll be happy to make necessary updates or remove them."

Buchholz asked, and "Odd Duck" was removed from the site. She worries about other sites and having to monitor all of them.

"My concern is are you going to put this up again in three months? Am I going to go through this in 3 months?"
