14-year-old among injured following double shooting near 22nd and Wells

MILWAUKEE — The Milwaukee Police Department said two people were injured in a shooting near 22nd and Wells Monday night.

MPD said the shooting happened around 8:10 p.m. Due to its proximity to Marquette University, MUPD alerted students to avoid the area shortly before 8:30 p.m.

Officials said both the victims, a 26-year-old man and a 14-year-old boy, were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The circumstances that led to the shooting are under investigation and police said they are seeking an unknown suspect.
