SHEBOYGAN FALLS -- Residents of Sheboygan Falls are being asked to limit their water usage due to ongoing construction on the city's water tower.

The request comes as dangerously hot air moves into southeast Wisconsin, with feels-like temperatures approaching 110 degrees at times throughout the weekend, according to forecasters.

"Sheboygan Falls Water Utility is requesting residents to limit their water usage today and over the weekend," the utility wrote on Facebook. "Our main water tower is down until Monday and with the hot temperatures it is causing a strain on the system. Please try to limit your water usage during this time."

The utility explained to people asking that the ongoing renovations are an effort "to protect the inside of the tower, therefore keeping residents safe."

Hot weather forced a change of plans at the world's largest music festival as well. Summerfest announced Friday morning that they were temporarily relaxing their carry-in policy so fans can stay hydrated.
