Racine County is the latest community to report creepy clown sightings.

Residents who live near Circle Drive in Mt. Pleasant say a clown was giving some local kids the creeps on Sunday.

The children were playing outside when they spotted the clown coming out of the woods.

"When you instill fear in a small child, especially in the comfort of their own home,  I think you are going too far. Kids need to know where they live is a safe place," neighbor Sheryle Kurdus said.

In West Bend, a seventh grade student was taken into custody for pretending to be a clown and sending alarming text messages to classmates.

"You're putting fear into children and if they're small like in the first, second or third grade it's not right. To those children, school is a safe place," Kurdus said.

The scary clown craze is now affecting big businesses. Target is removing clown mask from its shelves weeks before Halloween.

But across the street, at The Halloween Express in Mt Pleasant, the clown craze is a boost for business.

But employees there are offering some advice to anyone buying a clown mask -- don't clown around near the wrong people.
